Technology Breakthrough Finally Lowers the Pricing for Dental Implants in 2020

Long-awaited technology breakthroughs are finally starting to get implemented, resulting in significant price reductions for dental implants. Dental implants have become a really affordable solution that will quite literally brighten everyone’s smile. All that remains is doing a bit of online research near where one lives to find a dental provider that suits their needs in terms of quality and pricing.

This method uses crowns and lets patients replace what’s missing with something that looks and works similar to the real thing. Simply put, these implants are made from ceramic materials and attach to small titanium rods drilled into the same spot or socket where the natural tooth once was. First, the rods get fused with the bone in the jaw. Then, a crown put on top that is made to look similar to the surrounding teeth. Once this process is complete, one doesn’t need to have them touched again as they’re incredibly durable.

Why Are Dental Implants So Popular?

People have been trying to change or replace missing teeth for centuries. As one can imagine, this meant lots of different tests and inventions as well as lots of trial and error which resulted in many people being afraid of the dentist.

However, those times are long gone, and current dental implants are a solution that’s more or less flawless and infinitely better than older methods. People who have missing teeth can get that admirable smile back again. If dental patients are still not sure of this, in excess of 500,000 procedures are performed each year and as a patient, one can expect a 95% rate of satisfaction and success.[1]

Dental implants first came out in the mid-1960s. They soon replaced dentures and bridges as the preferred way of solving disfigured, missing, or discolored teeth. Since then, millions of women and men of all age groups have had success with dental implants.

At the time of introduction, dental implants provided previously uncertain benefits. With them, one could eat, sleep, and speak more or less regularly.  Putting practical advantages aside, they also looked much better, much more similar to the patient’s natural set of teeth. Lastly, the procedure was less painful and gave better results than previous methods which scared countless people away from the dentist’s office.

Why Should I Get Dental Implants?

If one has missing teeth and wants the replacements to resemble natural ones that look the part, there’s no better option than dental implants. In fact, it’s hard to tell apart artificial teeth from natural ones since dentists even make them the same color as the rest of the teeth.

The reduction of bone loss is another important aspect of dental implants. After losing a tooth, the soft jaw tissues will grow to absorb the gap, which in time may weaken the bone. Dental implants stabilize the jaw bone and reduce fracturing.

In comparison to dentures, dental implants are much better in terms of comfort and customization. There’s no need to take them out, soak them at night, or use various creams.

How Much are Dental Implants Prized?

Truth be told, dental implants require more specialized work and consultations with an oral surgeon which means they’re more expensive overall. How much are they priced? BeautySetter [2] estimates that a single replacement tooth is priced in the range of $1,500 to almost $7,000.

Luckily, material prices have gone down in recent years. Dentist Mark McOmie reported in Dental Economics [3] that the price has dropped from $600 to about $150 for a single implant. But despite that, one still has to search widely for surgeons and replacement teeth options to find a good option. Patients can also reduce their spending by letting a dental school student performed the procedure under supervision. Furthermore, there’s potential for additional savings through insurance.

Is it the Right Time for Dental Implants?

With everything said, there’s no better solution to missing teeth and the resulting loss of confidence than dental implants. Although more expensive than other solutions, they’re unrivaled in comfort, feel, durability, and most importantly how they look when finished. Better yet, there are multiple ways to get a good bargain on a procedure, but a little research is necessary.
